Assistant Branch Manager CharlevilleWorking with a long-established, family-run builders providers, serving the construction industry across Munster, whowork closely with builders, contractors, tradespeople, and DIY customers, supplying quality materials, reliable service, and practical, on-the-ground expertise.We are now seeking an experienced, trade-focused Assistant Branch Manager to support the day-to-day running of our busy North Cork branch, with a strong emphasis on trade counter sales, contractor relationships, and operational excellence.The RoleReporting to the Branch Manager and Senior Management, this is a hands-on leadership role supporting trade customers on a daily basis. You will work directly with builders and contractors, ensuring fast, efficient service while driving branch sales, managing stock, and leading the trade counter team.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Branch Manager in overseeing daily branch operations, with a strong focus on trade counter activity and contractor serviceLead and motivate the trade counter and yard teams to deliver fast, knowledgeable, and reliable service to trade customersBuild and maintain strong working relationships with builders, contractors, and tradespeople, understanding their needs and timelinesDrive trade sales performance by proactively identifying opportunities, upselling products, and supporting account growthAssist with stock control and ordering to ensure key trade lines are always availableEnsure compliance with health & safety procedures and safe working practices across the branchDeputise for the Branch Manager when required, ensuring continuity of service and standardsLiaise closely with suppliers to support trade requirements and product availabilityAbout YouProven experience in a supervisory or management role within a builders providers, trade counter, or construction supply environmentStrong knowledge of building materials and trade productsConfident dealing directly with professional trade customers in a fast-paced environmentCommercially aware and sales-driven, with experience growing trade accountsStrong leadership, organisational, and communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and POS / stock systemsFull driving licenceWhat’s on OfferCompetitive salary (DOE) + 10% bonusHealthcare and employer pension contributionExcellent sick pay schemeBike to Work schemeEmployee Assistance Programme with free mental health support for you and your immediate family5-day working week, scheduled Monday to Saturday
