The 5* Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate, Galway (part of the MHL Hotel Collection) is currently recruiting for a M&E/Reservations Sales Executive.
Glenlo Abbey Hotel and Estate is located on the banks of Lough Corrib on a 138-acre estate with the original 18th century manor house dating back to the 1740's. The Hotel comprises of 73 bedrooms including 6 suites, 11 Luxury Self-Catering Lodges, Corrib Room (catering for meetings, events, and weddings for up to 170 guests), River Room Restaurant, Palmers Bar and Kitchen, 2AA Rosette Pullman Restaurant (set aboard original Dining Carriages from the Orient Express), Glo Spa & Wellness, a 9 Hole Christy O'Connor Jr designed Championship Golf course and a 21 bay driving range.

We have an exciting new position for an Events and Reservations Executive.
This person will split their time between the reservations department, and the meeting/event/wedding department based on business levels.
Main Duties:
* Assisting in managing wedding inquiries and bookings in an efficient manner and encourage maximum sales revenue for overall profitability.
* Assisting with incoming Meeting, Incentive, Events & Wedding inquiries via telephone/face to face/e-mail actively converting inquiries into appropriate business.
* Effective and Clear client communication including quotation preparation, contracting, operational, post event follow up and feedback
* Professional, appropriate, and timely responses to all feedback, comments, and complaints.
* Preparation and distribution of event details to all relevant operational departments
* Liaise and maintain a relationship with other departments to ensure the effective, efficient, and smooth running of events.
* Organising & conducting show-arounds, client events, and trade shows (including evening & weekend events) if required
* Assisting with the marketing and sales of the venue to include wedding showcases, seasonal promotions, and other PR events.
* Handle all incoming enquiries in an efficient, courteous and friendly manner and ensure that queries and requests are answered and followed up.
* To conduct site inspections on the property with potential clients.
* Follow-up on leads and enquiries and take bedroom reservations, conference, banqueting, event and wedding bookings
* Ensure that all reservations/event bookings are correctly handled in line with rate management and any other selling guidelines and procedures.
* Provide information to customers on hotel facilities, services and outlet opening times.
* To work at promotional shows and stands to promote the hotel as required.
* Ensure that all duties are carried out according to Company procedures and that all checklists and reports are completed when required.
* Maximise in-house selling whenever possible and to maintain an awareness of all sales and up-selling opportunities.
* Be thoroughly familiar with current special offers and promotions.
* Promote and cross-sell other Companies in the Group where possible.
Requirements:
Have a real understanding of hotel operations.
Sales experience in a similar role preferred.
