This role sits within Tax reporting to the Head of Tax and is responsible for ensuring that our tax calculations, data flows, and reporting processes are accurate, scalable, and audit‑ready.ResponsibilitiesOwn the day‑to‑day and long‑term operational mechanics of the corporate Tax PlatformDevelop and operationalize repeatable calculations for:FDII, GILTI, Subpart F, and other U.S. international tax computations and transfer pricing computationsDigital asset cost basis and inventory tracking, including derivatives and complex financial productsMaintain and improve the data pipelines and transformation logic that feed the Tax Provision processLead OneSource data mapping, data cleansing, and reconciliation workflowsPartner with Accounting, Finance, Data, and Product teams to ensure tax data integrity across all systemsBuild SQL/Python automation that reduces manual effort, improves accuracy, and strengthens internal controlsServe as the go‑to operations expert for tax data issues, system flows, and reconciliation anomaliesManage cross‑functional execution for quarter‑end and year‑end tax processesEstablish controls, documentation, and repeatable processes to support audit and regulatory readinessProvide mentorship to analysts and foster a culture of operational rigor within the tax teamSkills You Should HODL5+ years in corporate tax operations, tax provision, or international tax analyticsWorking knowledge of FDII, GILTI, and Subpart FAdvanced SQL and Python, especially for reconciliation, data transformation, and computational modelingExperience supporting or operating a corporate tax provision processFamiliarity with digital asset cost‑basis issues, inventory methods, and financial product tax implicationsHands‑on experience with OneSource Tax Provision (data mapping, imports, validations)Ability to translate tax rules into operational logic and scalable processesStrong cross‑functional communication and comfort working in a fast‑moving environmentAttention to detail that balances accuracy with timely executionNice to havesExperience with crypto exchanges or digital asset financial reportingUnderstanding of blockchain data structures (conceptual level)Prior involvement in process redesign, systems implementation, or tax workflow automationExperience managing small teams or leading operational podsThis job is accepting ongoing applications and there is no application deadline.Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.We consider qualified applicants with criminal histories for employment on our team, assessing candidates in a manner consistent with the requirements of the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.Kraken is powered by people from around the world and we celebrate all Krakenites for their diverse talents, backgrounds, contributions and unique perspectives.
