Job Title: Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist
We are seeking an Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, engineering, or a related field and extensive experience in leading Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR) and Appropriate Assessments (AA/NIS).
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead EIA process and deliver EIAR and AA/NIS reports for large-scale projects.
* Provide expert advice on planning and environmental issues to inform business strategy.
* Stay up-to-date with planning and environmental legislation and policy decisions to maximize project outcomes.
* Contribute to company submissions as required.
* Support stakeholder engagement and communication plans for local communities and stakeholders.
* Prepare specifications for third-party services and assist procurement teams.
* Ensure all work complies with health and safety and environmental policies and statutory requirements.
* Assist with upskilling and mentoring junior staff in EIA and AA/NIS processes.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
* Honors degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or equivalent; postgraduate qualification desirable but not essential.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in leading EIAR and AA/NIS preparation for large-scale projects.
* Expertise in leading EIS/EIAR and AA/NIS documentation and managing multidisciplinary teams.
* Understanding of EIA process and Irish planning policy and legislation.
