Position Summary
As a
Staff Manufacturing Engineer
, you will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across multiple engineering competencies, including Lean Six Sigma, manufacturing, and automation.
You will provide technical leadership within the Stryker facility, applying broad knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and procedures to deliver complex assignments that directly support the manufacture of life-saving neurovascular devices.
This is a high-impact role that combines leadership, technical expertise, and innovation, driving automation, validation, and continuous improvement in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Specify precise new equipment functional requirements; design, test, and integrate components to produce final designs; evaluate design effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
Design, develop, execute, and evaluate process specifications and validation plans; create and review material part specifications and bills of materials.
Develop and implement supporting documentation, SOPs, and process work instructions in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Provide technical leadership and guidance for Process/Maintenance Technicians and other Manufacturing/Equipment Engineers.
Lead process validation activities (VP, IQ, OQ, PQ) and associated documentation.
Apply Value Centred Engineering principles to achieve improvements in quality, service, and cost.
Support the development of a world-class manufacturing group through process improvement and problem-solving using Six Sigma tools.
Monitor line performance, analyse data, and execute structured event plans to resolve systemic issues affecting operational performance.
Requirements
Level 8 Honours Degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum of 4 + years' experience in a medical devices manufacturing environment.
Desired qualifications include:
Strong communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven Project Management skills with delivery of business-critical projects.
Demonstrated ability to lead technically, provide direction, and influence decision-making.
Confident and effective decision-maker with a track record of technical leadership.
