OverviewHV Cables Civil Specialist - Dublin (Hybrid)We are currently supporting ESB Engineering & Major Projects in the appointment of an experienced HV Cables Civil Specialist to join their Linear Assets Delivery Group on a long-term project basis.This is an opportunity to work on critical high-voltage infrastructure projects supporting the development and resilience of Ireland’s electricity network and ESB’s Net Zero 2040 strategy.The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of civil engineering design solutions for HV underground cable projects across all project stages, from feasibility and detailed design through to construction support and technical assurance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead civil engineering design delivery for HV underground cable projectsProvide technical expertise across trenching, ducting, joint bays, HDD, tunnelling and complex crossingsManage technical risk, interfaces and design assurance activitiesReview and approve contractor and internal engineering deliverablesSupport project teams through scoping, estimating, design development and contract deliveryEnsure compliance with PSDP requirements, safety standards and statutory obligationsBuild strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and delivery partnersMentor junior engineers and support technical capability development across the teamRequirementsMinimum 10 years’ post-qualification experience in HV cable civil engineering designStrong experience across large-scale infrastructure or linear asset projectsKnowledge of PSDP and Construction RegulationsExperience managing technical assurance, design reviews and engineering riskChartered Engineer status (or equivalent internationally recognised body)Degree qualified in Engineering (Level 8 minimum)Full driving licence and access to a vehicleExperience within EPC / Design & Build projectsMaster’s Degree in EngineeringLocationHybrid working model based from ESB’s Dublin office, with a minimum of 2 office days per week plus regular site visits nationwide.
