Cancer Trials IrelandCancer Trials Ireland (CTI) is a national academic not-for-profit organisation coordinating and supporting investigator-led cancer clinical trials in Ireland. Working in partnership with clinicians, researchers, universities, hospitals, and funders, CTI aims to improve outcomes for patients with cancer through high-quality academic research.We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Office & Research Support Manager to join our team. This is a dual role, combining responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the office with support for research development and grant activity.The RoleThe postholder will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of CTI's operations while also supporting staff in identifying research funding opportunities, coordinating grant submissions, and assisting with grant reporting. The role will suit someone comfortable working across administration, systems, and research support in a progressive, collaborative organisation. This role will be onsite.Salary: 50-55K for fulltime but 0.8 FTE consideredKey Responsibilities:Office Management & OperationsManage the day-to-day administration and efficient operation of the CTI office.Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and track follow-up actions.Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and organisational documentation.Support onboarding and induction of new staff members.Liaise with suppliers and service providers as required IT & Digital SystemsAct as the primary IT liaison between CTI staff and external IT service providers.Support staff in the effective use of Microsoft 365, with a strong emphasis on SharePoint.Manage SharePoint document libraries, access permissions, and version control.Assist with troubleshooting routine IT and systems issues and escalate where necessary.Contribute to improving administrative processes and digital workflows.Research Support & Grant CoordinationMonitor and circulate information on research funding opportunities relevant to cancer research (e.g. HRB, SFI, charities, EU programmes).Maintain a calendar of funding calls and internal deadlines.Provide administrative support for research grant submissions, including coordination of documentation and internal approvals.Support collaboration with universities, hospitals, and partner institutions during the grant application process.Maintain records of grant submissions and awards.Assist with post-award grant reporting, including collation of progress and activity reports.Stakeholder LiaisonAct as an administrative point of contact with universities, research offices, hospitals, and funding bodies.Support CTI's Head of Communications and Head of Marketing through effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.Person Specification:EssentialRelevant experience in office management, research administration, or research support, ideally in a university, research institute, healthcare, or not-for-profit setting.Strong technical and digital skills, particularly in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently using own initiative while contributing effectively to a small team.DesirableExperience supporting research grant applications and/or reporting.Familiarity with the Irish research funding landscape.Experience acting as an IT or systems liaison in a small organisation.Experience working in a clinical or academic research environment.
