Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive quotations for carpentry and interior design projects. This includes interpreting blueprints, sourcing materials, and obtaining prices from subcontractors.
Main Responsibilities:
* Blueprint Review: Reviewing architectural plans, specifications, scope of work documents, door and hardware programs.
* Subcontractor Management: Timely requesting and evaluating quotes from specialized suppliers and subcontractors.
* Proposal Development: Assisting in the preparation of engineering value proposals to enhance alignment with client expectations and budget.
* Client Liaison: Coordinating with clients, designers, and contractors regarding specification queries.
Requirements:
* 3+ years of experience in estimating for carpentry, manufacturing, or interior design.
* Familiarity with workshop processes (advantageous).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Strong understanding of woodworking materials (woods, veneers, hardware, laminates) and manufacturing methods.
* Able to read and interpret architectural and woodworking plans.
* Commercial acumen and comprehension of margin, markup, and cost control.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Detailed attention and high precision.
* Able to prioritize workload and meet bid deadlines.
