Senior Platform Engineer We are partnering with a leading organisation to hire a Senior Platform Engineer to help design and build a modern internal platform that enables engineering teams to deliver software efficiently, securely, and at scale.
This role focuses on platform engineering (not traditional Dev Ops) - building and operating the shared infrastructure, tooling, and developer platform that application teams rely on.
The Role You will play a key role in shaping and delivering core platform capabilities, including a multi-tenant Kubernetes platform, cloud infrastructure, and developer self-service tooling.
Working closely with architecture, security, and engineering teams, you will define standards, design scalable systems, and help drive best practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities Design and deliver major platform initiatives from concept to production Build and evolve a multi-tenant Kubernetes platform (AKS or equivalent) Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) modules and standards Design developer-facing platform services and interfaces Contribute to cloud networking, identity, and zero-trust architectures Collaborate with cross-functional teams on platform and architecture decisions Mentor engineers and contribute to raising technical standards Support platform reliability through incident response and operational improvements Required Experience Strong experience in a major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Proven experience designing and operating Kubernetes platforms at scale Expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity, and security principles Experience with Git Ops and modern CI/CD practices Proficiency in Python or similar for automation/tooling Solid understanding of observability (metrics, logging, tracing) Desirable Skills Experience with service mesh, policy-as-code, and platform tooling ecosystems Knowledge of zero-trust architecture and modern identity protocols (OIDC, SAML) Experience working in regulated environments Relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications What's on Offer Opportunity to shape a modern internal platform at scale High-impact role with strong ownership and autonomy Collaborative, engineering-led environment Hybrid working with occasional in-person collaboration Reperio Human Capital acts as an Employment Agency and an Employment Business.
