Job Summary: The Store Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring efficient stock management, procurement support, and compliance across all storage and supply processes.
This position is accountable for maintaining optimal stock levels, safeguarding product quality, and supporting operational continuity across departments.
Key Responsibilities Manage the storage and requisitioning of all food and beverage items, ensuring adherence to established par stock levels Organise and maintain stock across all storage areas, including dry stores, refrigerators, and freezers Implement and monitor a first-in, first-out (FIFO) stock rotation system Monitor stock levels proactively and escalate reordering requirements to relevant stakeholders Support stock takes and ongoing inventory control processes Receive, inspect, and accurately record all incoming deliveries Verify that all goods align with purchase orders and delivery documentation Identify and report discrepancies, damages, or missing items to suppliers and management in a timely manner Ensure all deliveries comply with HACCP and food safety standards Maintain accurate filing of all delivery dockets, invoices, and related documentation Manage storage and requisitioning of non-food items including cleaning chemicals, stationery, and disposables Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance across all storage areas Liaise cross-functionally with kitchen, bar, housekeeping, and management teams to align on stock requirements and delivery schedules This job description is not intended to be either prescriptive or exhaustive, it is issued as a framework to outline main areas of responsibility at the time of writing.
Required Experience Skills Previous experience in purchasing or procurement is a strong advantage Prior experience within a hotel or hospitality environment is highly desirable Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance Effective organisational and time management skills Ability to work collaboratively across departments Working knowledge of stock control systems and food safety standards (e.g. HACCP) Accountability and ownership mindset Process-driven with a focus on efficiency Strong communication and stakeholder engagement Problem-solving and issue resolution capability The Grace Westport Estate is an equal opportunity employer.
