You will
spearhead the strategic direction for MCO's global engineering teams, with a
focus on integrating AI/ML capabilities and modern software practices. You will
establish and monitor KPIs, champion agile and MLOps methodologies, and ensure
continuous improvement. You will serve as a key decision-maker in technical
architecture, particularly in AI-driven solutions, and act as a trusted advisor
to senior leadership on technology strategy and risk management.
As Director
of Engineering, you will provide strategic direction and technical oversight
for global delivery teams, with a strong emphasis on AI and advanced
engineering practices. You will lead and mentor senior managers and technical
leaders, drive innovation in AI/ML, and ensure alignment with MCO's objectives.
You will champion responsible, ethical AI practices, foster a culture of
technical excellence, and collaborate across departments to deliver impactful
solutions.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic direction and
oversight for multiple engineering teams, ensuring alignment with MCO's
objectives and long-term vision, with a focus on AI/ML innovation.
* Lead and mentor engineering
managers and principal engineers, empowering them to drive results and
foster a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
* Define and implement agile and
MLOps-led processes to scale engineering operations, improve efficiency,
and support AI/ML workflows.
* Drive innovation in AI and
machine learning, ensuring solutions are ethical, explainable, and
compliant with regulatory standards.
* Collaborate with product
management, compliance, customer success, and technology teams to deliver
impactful, AI-enabled solutions aligned with business goals.
* Establish and maintain KPIs for
engineering and AI/ML performance, regularly assessing and reporting
progress.
* Serve as a key decision-maker
in technical architecture and design, especially for scalable, robust, and
AI-driven solutions.
* Champion diversity, equity, and
inclusion, and promote a culture of belonging and respect.
* Drive recruitment and talent
acquisition for both engineering and AI/ML roles, partnering with HR to
attract top talent.
* Represent engineering in
cross-functional meetings and strategic planning, advocating for the needs
and priorities of both engineering and AI teams.
* Stay abreast of industry and
AI/ML trends, evaluating their impact and recommending adoption where
valuable.
* Act as a trusted advisor to
senior leadership on technology, AI strategy, resource allocation, and
risk management.

* 15+ years of experience
(including up to 7 years in management) in product development, with
significant exposure to AI/ML and cloud-based engineering.
* 3+ years of second or third
line management experience.
* Strong Java full stack and
Python engineering experience in a product development environment, with
hands-on expertise in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch,
Scikit-learn).
* Decisive contributions in
technical architecture, especially for AI/ML and data-driven solutions.
* Expertise in reviewing
architecture & design, modularisation, microservice architectures, and
scalable AI/ML systems.
* Strong problem-solving and
analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues in both
engineering and AI/ML contexts.
* Adaptability, prioritisation,
