About Us

The Seafood Café is a multi award-winning, fast-paced, seafood restaurant in the heart of Dublin. We source 100% of our seafood directly from trusted day-boat fishermen and via our own wholesale department, ensuring only the freshest Irish catch makes it to the plate.

We're part of a diverse food company with operations that span restaurants, production kitchens, retail ranges, and Ireland's leading seafood food truck, Salty Buoy.

Our open kitchen, bar-counter dining, and daily changing menus create a dynamic workplace where chefs can grow, learn, and contribute creatively.

Job Description

We are seeking a Sous Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate shares our commitment to Irish produce and thrives in a high-energy, customer-facing kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills and work within a company that values quality, creativity, and progression.

Responsibilities

* Prepare and cook high-quality seafood dishes to specification.
* Support the team in maintaining consistent standards of quality and presentation.
* Lead and collaborate with the team to ensure smooth, efficient service.
* Manage stock, ordering, waste control, and kitchen organisation.
* Ensure all hygiene and food-safety standards are upheld.
* Interact professionally with guests through our open kitchen setup.

Requirements

* Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a seafood-driven or high-volume kitchen.
* Strong knowledge of Irish produce and an interest in local sourcing.
* Genuine passion for seafood and a desire to continue developing culinary skills.
* Ability to work under pressure in a busy, open-kitchen environment.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
