Strategic Procurement Lead
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Procurement Lead to drive our purchasing function forward. In this key role, you will be responsible for leading a team of procurement specialists and developing strategies to improve supplier performance, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
About the Role
* Lead and manage a team of procurement specialists to achieve strategic objectives;
* Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize supply chain performance;
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to drive improved quality, cost reductions, and supply consistency;
* Monitor and deliver departmental KPIs on on-time delivery, supplier performance, stock levels, and cost savings;
* Identify and deliver freight cost savings and stock reduction initiatives;
* Oversee purchase order creation, approvals, and compliance with company policy;
* Maintain and evolve procurement processes in line with ISO and QMS standards;
* Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and warehousing to ensure inventory accuracy and material availability;
* Support accurate forecasting and long-term supplier planning;
* Mentor and develop procurement team members to build a high-performing function.
Requirements
* Degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field;
* Minimum 5 years' procurement leadership experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment;
* Proven track record in supplier management, cost reduction, and achieving performance targets;
* Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with experience negotiating international supplier agreements and logistics contracts;
* Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel;
* Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
