We are working with a growing business seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join its finance team in a broad role with responsibility across multiple entities and subsidiaries. This is a strong opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys a varied position covering financial reporting, statutory accounts, budgeting, forecasting, VAT, audit & compliance support and process improvement.The role will suit someone who is hands-on, detail-focused and comfortable working across the full finance cycle while supporting wider business decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of the day-to-day finance activities across a number of group entities and subsidiariesPrepare monthly management accounts with clear commentary on performance and key variancesAssist with the preparation of annual statutory financial statementsSupport the budgeting and forecasting process across the business, working closely with key stakeholdersPrepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controlsLead on VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant tax and regulatory requirementsSupport the year-end audit process, including preparation of audit files and liaising with external auditorsAssist with cashflow reporting and ongoing financial analysisReview and improve existing finance processes, controls and reporting proceduresSupport systems and process improvement initiatives to drive greater efficiency across the finance functionWork closely with the wider finance team and business leaders to provide accurate and timely financial informationRequirementsQualified accountant, ideally ACA, ACCA or CIMA and practice trainedStrong experience in financial accounting, ideally across multiple entities or a group structureGood understanding of statutory accounts preparation, month-end and year-end processesExperience with budgeting and forecastingStrong VAT and compliance knowledgeExcellent attention to detail and strong organisational skillsConfident communicator with the ability to work across different teams and stakeholdersSystems savvy with a process improvement mindsetWhat the role offersStrong mix of reporting, commercial support and complianceOpportunity to improve processes and add real valueVaried role with good visibility across the business
