OverviewDublin 3, Ireland | Posted on 06/01/2026Occupli is supporting a leading energy infrastructure client with the appointment of a Maintenance Engineer based at their Dublin site.The Terminal Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in maintaining the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a fuel storage and distribution terminal operating under Upper Tier COMAH regulations.Working across two operational sites within Dublin Port, the role supports the maintenance programme for critical mechanical, electrical, and operational assets, ensuring continuity of supply, regulatory compliance, and high safety standards.This is a hands-on, site-based role with responsibility for coordinating maintenance activities, overseeing contractors, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the terminal.ResponsibilitiesDeliver and support planned preventative maintenance activities across terminal assets, coordinating reactive and non-routine maintenance as requiredCarry out routine inspections to identify equipment degradation, plant fatigue, or emerging risks, responding effectively to breakdowns to minimise disruptionMaintain accurate records within the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)Prepare, review, and update maintenance procedures, policies, and technical documentationSupervise third-party contractors in accordance with site safety rules and permit-to-work requirementsReview contractor risk assessments and method statements prior to work commencingSupport the permit-to-work process, including hot works, confined space entry, and isolation proceduresAssist with EHS inductions for contractors and promote a strong safety culture on siteContribute to operational risk assessments to ensure safe terminal activitiesSupport incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action trackingAssist with capital and maintenance projects, including sourcing quotations and coordinating worksParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiencyRequirementsExperience working within oil terminals, fuel storage, process plants, or regulated industrial environmentsStrong understanding of maintenance planning and execution in a high-risk operational settingDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, operational environmentProven problem-solving and decision-making capabilityStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsEffective communication skills with the ability to work across operations, contractors, and managementQualifications & Technical SkillsThird-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline (or equivalent experience)Ability to read and interpret P&IDsSolid understanding of isolation and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) systemsStrong working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety requirementsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including ExcelComfortable working as part of a site-based team and contributing to shared safety objectives
