Location: Millbank House, Arkle Road, Sandyford Business Park
This is a hybrid role based at our Head Office in Sandyford, Co. Dublin. A minimum of 3 days per week on-site is required, depending on training schedules. The role involves nationwide travel to deliver in-person training, attend off-site meetings, and represent Odyssey Social Care at conferences. Hours of Work: 40-Hours per week

Overview
Reporting to the Training Manager, the Social Care Trainer coordinates and delivers training for staff within the organisation. The Trainer plays a key role in ensuring our staff teams receive high quality training and development, helping them to make a positive impact on the lives of young people in care.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
* Coordinate Training: Coordinate the training of Odyssey Social Care staff in the mandatory training courses and in any additional training courses as necessary.
* Ensure trainers are booked.
* Encourage and facilitate trainee attendance.
* Ensure availability of training rooms.
* Ensure reminders are sent out to trainers and trainees.
* Ensure quality of courses.
* Ensure training is recorded and certificates uploaded.
* Ensure feedback is given to Regional and Social Care Managers of trainee attendance and performance.
* Ensure tracking of training and refresher needs of the company staff and matching with courses.
* Develop Training Courses: Develop training courses as needed by the Odyssey Social Care group of companies.
* Research training needs of staff.
* Research current availability of courses.
* Make use of current skills and knowledge in the organisation.
* Research content of courses, skills and information.
* Draw up the course.
* Develop methods of appraisal of course and of participants.
* Training: Train staff within the Odyssey Social Care group of companies.
* Plan the training course, including identifying specific needs of the participants.
* Prepare the materials and environment for the course.
* Brief co-trainers.
* Present course in a manner designed to motivate, support and enable staff.
* Assess course content and participant performance.
* Provide feedback, including constructive criticism where warranted, to participants.
* Ensure training is recorded and certificates uploaded.
* Notify Regional and Unit managers of participant performance.
* Ongoing performance appraisal: Where ongoing feedback on skills developed in training programmes is required, to provide this following Odyssey Social Care’s Policies and Procedures.
* Read the documentation relating to the specific skills and knowledge to be monitored.
* Critically analyse the levels of skills and knowledge demonstrated in the documentation.
* Communicate with the Social Care Managers about the skills and knowledge and recording of the same.
* Give written comments regarding the implementation of specific skills and knowledge set and childcare in general.
* Alert the Head of Residential Childcare to issues arising in the documentation.
* Whistle Blowing, Confidentiality, Company Welfare: Encourage “whistleblowing” in all staff, according to the whistleblowing policy, and receive reports from staff and managers as appropriate, acting upon them promptly and effectively.
* Maintain confidentiality in regard to the children in our care, staffing matters, financial matters and any other matters internal to the company.
* Take responsibility at all times for the wellbeing of the Company, putting it before personal, financial or other gain.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Relevant Social Care Work Qualification (Min Level Level 7).
* CORU Registration [Required Or in Process]
* Minimum 3 years’ Social Care Work experience in a Childrens Residential Services.
* Strong knowledge of Childrens legislation and best practices.
* Understanding of Irish National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres.
* Experience delivering training sessions to staff groups.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, TMS, and data management systems.
* Traveling will be a large component of this role; you will need a full clean driving license, and flexibility in order to attend different locations nationwide (office based for administrative duties but mainly travelling.)
* Requirement to keep abreast of new legislation and regulatory frameworks.

Required Criteria
* Are you legally authorized to work in Ireland?
* Do you have a Relevant Social Care Work Qualification (Min Level Level 7).
* Are you CORU Registered or in Process of being Registered?
* Do you have a Minimum 3 years’ Social Care Work experience in a Childrens Residential Services.
* Do you have a Strong knowledge of Childrens legislation and best practices.
* Do you have an Understanding of Irish National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres.
* Do you have experience delivering training sessions to staff groups?
