Environmental Specialist EHS Location: Dublin Based Industry: Pharmaceutical Overview We are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist to support our growing EHS Division.
This role is critical to ensuring full compliance with updated environmental requirements and integrating these into our existing management systems.
While experience in Health & Safety is a bonus, the primary focus of this position is environmental compliance and performance.
Key Responsibilities Lead the integration of all new EPA licence requirements into the companys Environmental Management System (EMS).
Update and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), documentation, and internal processes to reflect new regulatory obligations.
Review, update, and align digital systems and environmental data platforms with revised compliance requirements.
Develop, complete, and submit required environmental studies, assessments, notifications, and reports within regulatory timelines.
Support the ongoing maintenance of ISO 14001 certification, ensuring alignment between the EMS and regulatory/licence updates.
Provide training and awareness sessions to relevant staff on new environmental procedures, compliance obligations, and best practices.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless implementation of environmental controls and operational practices.
Gradually assume responsibility for broader environmental compliance activities as needed.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, consultants, and auditors regarding environmental matters and audit preparedness Qualifications & Experience Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
Proven experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
Strong background in EPA licence compliance, ideally within pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical systems, procedures, and controls.
Experience developing environmental reports, assessments, and submissions.
Strong organisational, documentation, and project management skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver training and work cross-functionally.
Health & Safety experience is an advantage but not essential.
