The Role:
The Logistics Associate Apprentice (LAA) will work as part of a team responsible for planning and coordinating transport routes across Ireland, the UK and Europe, as well as supporting dailymanpowerallocations in key regions such as Dublin, London,Frankfurtand Milan.
Thistwo-yearapprenticeship is delivered in partnership with TU Dublin and the Freight Transport Association of Ireland, including one day per week of college attendance during academic semesters, leading to a QQI Level 6 Higher Certificate in Logistics.
Throughout theprogramme, the apprentice will be trained to carry out administrative tasks to a high standard, follow established operating procedures, and manage documentation, filemaintenance,and financial transactions.
Once trained, they will handle queries and requests professionally and efficiently, while reporting directly to the Planning Team Lead.
Responsibilities:
The Logistics Associate Apprentice will rotate through areas and functions of the business in a structured way to develop their skills across the business.
Areas of expertise and responsibility will include:
Assistingour Planning Team with daily and weekly activities to ensure effective use of resources.
Ensuring proofs of delivery are activity managedin a timely manner.
Liaising with the Planning control tower and team to ensure service levels aremaintained.
Liaising with clients, sub-contractors, overseasofficesand agents.
Working closely with client's supply chain function to ensure schedules are met and are accurately reported on.
Responding to changing customer demands seamlessly.
Communicating with customers and understanding customer requirements.
Onsite experience with our customers.
About you:
Attend one full day of classes per week at TU Dublin and activelyparticipatein all required learning activities.
Complete all theoretical and practical modules, including exams, projects, continuous assessments, and reflective work-based journals.
Meet TU Dublin entry criteria: minimum age 18 and qualification via Leaving Certificate, QQI Level 5/6, or Recognition of Prior Learning.
Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and the ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines and changing priorities.
Show a strong willingness tolearntransport planning,logisticsadministration, customer service, and operations in a fast-paced environment.
Display strong written and verbal communication skills and a results-driven, "can-do"attitude.
Possess (orwilling to develop) skills in document control, record keeping, billing, quotations, and invoicing.
Advantages: proficiency in a European language, experience with MS SharePoint, or academic background in logistics/supply chain.
