Your Mission!
As Shop Lead, you will supervise a small, dynamic team delivering excellent service to B2B customers. You will ensure your team is organised, motivated, and achieving sales and service targets while maintaining exceptional operational standards across both stores and on‑site delivery activities. You will act as the key link between management and shop staff, supporting performance, coaching team members, and ensuring consistency in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supervision
Supervise and support a team of three shop staff
Allocate daily tasks and ensure efficient coverage across both store locations
Provide on‑the‑job coaching, guidance, and performance feedback
Support onboarding and training of new team members
Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service
Sales & Customer Engagement
Support and drive sales performance across retail and construction customers
Oversee telesales activity and ensure follow‑up on construction accounts
Assist in identifying opportunities to grow customer relationships and sales
Step in to handle key customer accounts when required
Operations & Coordination
Ensure smooth coordination of deliveries to construction sites
Oversee stock management, replenishment, and accuracy across both locations
Support rota planning and ensure adequate store coverage
Maintain high standards of merchandising, cleanliness, and organisation
Performance & Reporting
Monitor KPIs including sales, margin, and customer service targets
Report performance updates to management
Identify issues or opportunities and implement improvements where possible
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all team members follow safety procedures in‑store and on the road
Promote a strong culture of security awareness and compliance
Maintain safe working practices across all activities
Skills, Experience & Requirements
Previous experience in retail, trade, tools, construction, or similar environment
Proven ability to lead, motivate, or support a small team (formal supervisory experience an advantage)
Strong sales background with a customer‑focused mindset
Full clean driving licence (essential)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
Confident working across multiple locations and adapting quickly
Strong knowledge of construction or trade products is an advantage
