Job Title: Function ChefReports to: Executive Head ChefThe Riverside Park Hotel is seeking an experienced and driven Function Chef to take a leading role in delivering exceptional food for our busy events and banqueting operations.This is a senior, hands‑on position, where the successful candidate will confidently run functions end‑to‑end, ensuring every event from weddings and large banquets to conferences and private dining is executed seamlessly, on time, and to the highest standard.You will be instrumental in leading the kitchen team during functions, maintaining exceptional quality under pressure, and ensuring each guest experience reflects the high standards and reputation of the Riverside Park Hotel.Key ResponsibilitiesFunction & Banqueting LeadershipTake full ownership of all kitchen aspects of functions and eventsLead and manage large‑scale food service during weddings, conferences, and banquetsEnsure smooth, efficient service from prep through to final deliveryRun function service with confidence, ensuring timing, presentation, and coordination are flawlessFood Quality & ConsistencyDeliver consistently high‑quality food across large‑volume serviceEnsure presentation, portion control, and taste meet the hotel’s standardsSupport the creation and continuous development of function menusBalance creativity with practical execution in a high‑volume environmentPlanning & OrganisationOversee all prep and mise en place for functions to ensure readinessManage stock control, ordering, and waste minimisation effectivelyAnticipate service challenges and plan ahead to avoid disruptionHealth, Safety & ComplianceMaintain the highest standards of hygiene, food safety, and HACCP complianceEnsure all allergen and dietary requirements are managed with care and precisionKeep the kitchen environment clean, organised, and compliant at all timesSkills & Experience RequiredProven experience in a senior chef position, ideally within a hotel or banqueting environmentStrong track record of successfully running large‑scale functions independentlyExcellent leadership, communication, and organisational skillsAbility to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced kitchenStrong focus on quality, consistency, and guest experienceFlexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekendsCalm, organised, and solution‑focused under pressurePassionate about food and delivering exceptional guest experiencesStrong team player who fosters a positive kitchen cultureEnergetic and driven with a commitment to continuous improvementWhy Join UsAt the Riverside Park Hotel, we are proud to deliver memorable experiences for our guests and our kitchen team is central to that success.In this role, you will play a key part in some of our most important events, working in an environment that values:Care – Delivering outstanding guest experiences and supporting your teamAlways Getting Better – Continuously improving standards and performanceDoing the Right Thing – Maintaining integrity and consistency in everything we doEnergy & Drive – Bringing passion and positivity to every service
