CBM Maintenance Technician Contract Duration/Type: Permanent Location: Grangecastle, Clondalkin 39 Hours per week Overview of the role: The CBM Technician will be responsible for implementing and executing condition-based maintenance strategies to ensure optimum plant performance and reliability. This role involves proactive monitoring, analysis, and targeted maintenance to reduce costs and enhance equipment uptime. Duties of the Role include: Conduct routine maintenance identified from the CBM checks. Complete assigned Work Orders on the computer maintenance management system (CMMS-EAMS). Utilize remote monitoring tools to verify plant condition and monitor alarms. Respond to plant failures outside and assist the maintenance team in troubleshooting activities. Participate in the development and implementation of tailored CBM strategy for assets on site. Perform plant checks using either automatic recording and reporting with alarm level flags or manual records of plant conditions using the relevant technologies. Assist in developing and reviewing CBM schedules aligned with equipment criticality Conduct various checks including vibration analysis, acoustic emissions monitoring, air leak surveys, steam trap surveys, thermography, wear and oil analysis, and power quality monitoring. Maintain a log of plant conditions for audit purposes. Raise reactive tasks and access the Forward Capital Maintenance Programme for overhaul or replacement of plant items with unusual running conditions. Troubleshoot, repair/modify CBM PM's to ensure plant reliability is of the highest level. Undertake pre-start-up safety reviews and ensure the safe start-up of site systems. Troubleshoot equipment utility issues by performing investigations, root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. Support CMMS data build through verification of instruments and equipment in the field and through P&IDs. Read and work to indicated accuracy, specifications, and tolerances as detailed on engineering drawings, machine assembly prints, machine construction prints, blueprints, sketches, equipment manuals, and vendor diagrams. Utilize the plant computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for writing work orders, entering time, entering comments, and researching past problems. Communicate effectively with other plant personnel and disciplines regarding CBM findings. Assist in identifying repetitive problems and assessing the need for PMs, PM changes, documentation, tools, spare parts, procedures, and training. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives on site. Required skills for this role: National Craft Certificate (or equivalent) in appropriate mechanical or electrical discipline or Cert/diploma/degree (or equivalent) in appropriate mechanical or electrical discipline CBM certification in multiple technologies and at least 2 years' experience. Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent, in mechanical/environmental, and at least two years post graduate experience, preferably in mechanical/building services, or Marine qualification, with at least 2 years' experience at sea. Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech or food industry. Experience in CBM technologies such as vibration analysis, ultrasonic testing, thermal imaging and motor signature analysis. ( SKF, Emerson, Fluke) 3 years minimum experience and good understanding of the fundamentals of mechanical, building services and utilities systems. HVAC systems, pumps, air compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, clean steam, purified water, refrigeration systems and process gases. Building Management Systems (Scada). Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance / Corrective Maintenance systems. Worked within a Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) work order system (EAMS/SAP). Work within a documented permit to work system, method statement, risk assessment and COHE methods. Computer literate and good organizational skills. Ability to read and understand P&ID's. Understanding of SOP's/EWI's and GMP engineering systems. Low /Medium voltage electrical Systems nice to have. Analytical laboratory environment experience. Self-motivation, ability to work alone and as a collaborator. Methodical & analytical approach to work and the ability to communicate with supervisor and colleagues. Good problem solving and trouble shooting ability. Excellent communication and people skills. Computer skills such as Excel, Word, and client specific applications.
