Job Overview
We are seeking a Night-Time Dispatch Controller to join our operations team. This role involves managing incoming breakdown and recovery calls, coordinating drivers, and ensuring efficient service delivery throughout the night shift. You'll be the key link between customers, drivers, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
* Receive and log incoming breakdown and recovery calls (from customers, insurers, and Gardaí). Dispatch recovery vehicles and allocate jobs to drivers based on location, urgency, and workload. Monitor driver progress and vehicle locations using GPS and dispatch software. Maintain accurate job records and shift logs. Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, providing updates and ETAs. Liaise with garages, insurance companies, and emergency services as needed. Ensure all jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. Handle administrative and reporting tasks during the shift.
Requirements
* Fluent spoken and written English. Experience in dispatching, transport coordination, or a similar call-handling role (preferred, not essential). Strong multitasking and communication skills. Good local knowledge of Wicklow, Dublin, and surrounding areas. Computer literacy and confidence using dispatch or GPS systems. Ability to stay calm under pressure and work independently. Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working night shifts.
Desirable
Experience in the vehicle recovery or automotive industry.
Familiarity with insurance or roadside assistance procedures.
