Catering Team Leader (Prep, Cook and Serve)
Location: Bree National School, Enniscorthy, Wexford.
Contract: 27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Job Summary
We are looking for a hands‑on Catering Assistant to join our team at The School Food Company. The role involves cooking from scratch, kitchen management and delivering lunches to classrooms.
Responsibilities
Prepare fresh, healthy meals daily in our onsite kitchens.
Assist with the hustle and bustle of a fast‑paced commercial kitchen.
Deliver lunches to classrooms and perform end‑of‑day clean‑down.
Maintain high standards of HACCP food safety and hygiene.
Lead kitchen operations: rostering, placing orders with food service providers, recruiting and supervising staff, ensuring food safety and company policies are adhered to.
Move between schools within approximately a 30‑minute drive of your main location for support.
Schedule
Approx. 8:30 am – 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Roster issued one week in advance. Rotating roster (2 days one week, 3 days the next).

Willingness to move between schools within a 30‑minute drive of your school for support/cover when needed.
All roles subject to Garda Vetting and completion of a child protection course.
Experience in catering or home cooking is a massive advantage; a positive attitude is essential.
Experience in team leadership, catering and cooking is required.
Training in HACCP is preferable.
