About the Role Level: 5 Location: Dublin Department: Compliance Contract: Permanent The Senior Risk and Compliance Officer (CF2) plays a key role in supporting the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the firm's Risk and Compliance Framework.
While reporting to the Head of Compliance, the role works collaboratively across the organisation to promote a strong culture of risk awareness and regulatory compliance.
The individual will contribute to risk identification, control assessments, compliance monitoring, and regulatory engagement, ensuring that governance standards are upheld across all business functions.
As a Controlled Function under the Central Bank of Ireland's Individual Accountability Framework (IAF), the individual is expected to act with integrity, competence, and due skill, and to comply with the Common Conduct Standards and any Additional Conduct Standards applicable to their role.
Key Responsibilities Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the firm's Risk and Compliance Framework.
Maintain and update key governance documents such as the risk register, policies, procedures, and control frameworks.
Identify gaps and recommend enhancements to systems, controls, and training programmes.
Conduct assessments to identify and evaluate regulatory, operational, financial, and reputational risks across business functions.
Monitor emerging risks and regulatory developments, ensuring appropriate internal response and alignment.
Assist in the development and execution of monitoring and assurance activities to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed risk and compliance considerations into business processes, projects, and new initiatives.
Deliver training and awareness sessions to staff to promote a strong culture of compliance and risk awareness.
Contribute to regulatory submissions and responses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in communications with supervisory authorities.
Prepare reports and updates for senior management and governance committees.
Represent the Risk and Compliance function at internal forums and governance committees, as required.
Senior Executive Accountability Regime (SEAR) Roles Controlled Functions (CFs): CF3) Giving of advice to a customer of the regulated financial service provider.
About You Professional qualification in risk management and/or compliance preferred.
Previous experience in compliance, risk management, or audit within a regulated financial services environment.
Demonstrated experience with risk assessments, controls testing, regulatory liaison, and remediation processes, preferably within a MiFID-regulated retail firm.
Strong working knowledge of Irish and EU regulatory frameworks, including MiFID II, DORA, and AML/CFT.
Proven ability to design, implement, and enhance risk management and compliance frameworks Track record of delivering assurance monitoring and contributing to governance reporting.
Skills: Strong understanding of Irish and EU regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Proven analytical skills with the ability to assess complex issues and propose effective solutions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities, both written and verbal.
High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and functions.
Proficiency in risk management and compliance software tools and systems.
