Job Description
As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for promoting a culture of health, safety, and compliance across all construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor compliance with Irish H&S legislation, company policies, and client requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
* Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
* Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training to staff and contractors on site-specific hazards and risks.
* Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
* Support project managers in developing method statements and safe systems of work to minimize risks.
* Maintain accurate safety records and documentation for regulatory audits to demonstrate compliance.
Requirements:
To succeed as a Safety Officer, you will need:
* A Diploma/Degree in Health & Safety or related discipline.
* NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent certification.
* Minimum 2–3 years' construction site experience.
* Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively engage with staff and contractors.
Work Details
The successful candidate will hold regular site visits to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations. They will also provide ongoing support to project managers in developing safe systems of work and maintaining accurate safety records.
