A new and innovative respite service is launching, designed to support adults in our day services to enjoy meaningful social lives, new experiences and greater independence.
This service will use hotels, local amenities, services and community resources to offer flexible, personcentred overnight trips, evening and weekend activities.
Grounded in the values of New Directions, this service is built on empowerment, choice and community inclusion.
We are seeking passionate, creative and committed individuals to join our team for the following role: Day Service Instructors (Full-Time / Part-Time - 1 Year Contract) Day Service Instructors will work directly with adults in our day services to create and support meaningful breaks by utilising hotels, leisure activities and experiences across the country, offering participants new environments and opportunities for enjoyment, relaxation and social inclusion.
Key Responsibilities Provide highquality, personcentred support during day, evening and weekend activities Facilitate community participation using local services, amenities and events Support individuals to build confidence, independence and social connections Promote choice, autonomy and selfadvocacy Create and support meaningful overnight breaks and evening activities Ideal Candidates A relevant third-level qualification (FETAC Level 6 or higher) in Social Care, Education, Health Leisure, Community Development, or similar Experience supporting people with disabilities in community settings Warm, energetic and creative approach to support Flexibility to work across varied locations and adapt to different overnight settings.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to Human Rights and inclusive practice Solution focus IT proficient Full drivers licence for a manual vehicle Why Join Us?
