Senior Social Care Worker Role
The primary objective of this position is to provide care and support through a person-centred approach which meets the practical, physical and emotional needs of service users with an intellectual disability/ABI/Autism.
This role requires a qualified professional to assist individuals with disabilities in residential, training and day service activities, aiming to achieve their highest level of functioning, maintain independence and/or improve skills for increased autonomy.
The Senior Social Care Worker will be part of the on-floor duty team, responsible for shift coordination and supervision of other staff. They will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) in service delivery to residents.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Person In-Charge and may be required to deputise for this role in their absence, assuming appropriate management responsibilities.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* A qualification at Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications in Social Care, Social Work, Youth Work, Teaching, Nursing, Childcare with Disability modules or other relevant discipline/qualification.
* At least 2 years' experience working in a residential, respite or day service setting with individuals with an intellectual disability, enabling the discharge of full duties, functions, responsibilities and activities required of the role.
* CORU registration or currently obtaining CORU registration.
Desirable Experience:
* Previous experience managing a team.
