Catering Supervisor Healthcare Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced catering supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our hospital's food service department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff schedules, attendance, and performance, as well as ensuring the smooth running of all catering services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise the work of catering staff in the kitchen, dining areas, and other service points.
* Manage staff schedules, attendance, and performance, including training and development.
* Foster a positive work environment and maintain good working relationships with all staff.
* Ensure the smooth and efficient running of all catering services, including meal preparation and service for patients and staff.
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the staff restaurant and maintain high service standards.
* Monitor and control costs related to food, equipment, and resources.
* Ensure food is prepared and served to meet nutritional guidelines and patient dietary needs.
* Monitor and maintain hygiene standards, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and infection control policies.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, hospital policies, and procedures.
* Participate in quality assurance programs and audits.
* Communicate effectively with nursing staff to ensure patients receive the correct meals.
* Respond to patient and customer feedback and complaints.
* Liaise with other departments, such as finance, supplies, and dietetics, to ensure smooth service delivery.
* Manage purchasing documentation and ensure accurate invoicing and credit notes for deliveries.
* Monitor food safety management systems and maintain relevant records.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in healthcare, hospitality, or contract catering in a supervisory role.
* A passion for food and patient care.
* Hold a Bachelor's degree in Arts, NFQ Level 7 in Hospitality Management awarded by an approved educational institute.
