About the team
We are a technical Corporate Engineering team ensuring stakeholders across Grafana have the technology they need. We manage IT Operations, Internal Help Desk, Corporate Security, and service development, and provide automation tools for developers and non‑technical employees.
The Opportunity
Lead the team to finish optimization of our IT operations stack and drive the internal AI strategy. Build processes and systems so all teams can experiment and own their own tools.
What You’ll be Doing
Lead a team covering corporate systems, employee device lifecycles, helpdesk queues, and internal tooling development.
Handle corporate security initiatives, deploying security and compliance checks in an employee‑enabling way.
Define our internal AI rollout, enablement, and security strategy across all teams.
Manage relationships, negotiation, and contracting with core SaaS vendors.
Make work and costs visible, and continuously improve processes.
Leverage the Grafana product and ecosystem to solve corporate engineering challenges.
Act as a leader within the Foundations department, including platform, business application, and security teams.
Conduct regular 1:1s, coaching, and mentoring.
Participate in team activities, contribute to and review design documents, and be part of on‑call rotation.
What Makes You a Great Fit
Experience running a software engineering operations team with strong engineering background.
Deep hands‑on experience managing and automating corporate IT systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, Android, SSO, MDM, EDR, DLP, SaaS platforms, AI providers).
Approach IT and corporate security with a DevOps mindset, focusing on automation and guardrails.
Knowledge of the current AI state of the art and ideas on how to leverage it safely.
Curiosity about software, security, and emerging technologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Work Eastern‑time oriented hours.
Bonus Points
Technical background, preferably with programming or software engineering experience. Experience with Go, multiple cloud providers, and Kubernetes expertise.
Experience leveraging and securing AI tooling for all core personas.
Plan for securing AI.
Knowledge of Grafana Labs OSS projects and products, and experience using observability tooling in security or IT contexts.
Experience working with OSS communities.
In Ireland, the Base compensation range for this role is €133,000 – €167,000. All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
