You will put your Business Analyst skills to work as you empower business partners and team members improve healthcare delivery.
You will be part of a team focused on developing a cutting-edge analytics platform and deploying advanced machine learning models to support Value-Based Care (VBC) initiatives, Quality Field Operations (QFO), and enterprise-wide quality performance improvement.
You will be a critical member of the team responsible for documenting business requirements and translating them into clear, actionable technical requirements for our Data Engineering, Data Science, Business Intelligence, and QFO quality operations partners.
Your work will directly support provider performance and quality initiatives, advanced analytics, quality measurement, and field-based quality programs that enable improved provider performance, regulatory compliance, and member outcomes.
You'll be in the driver's seat on high-impact initiatives that bridge analytics, quality field operations, ensuring insights generated from data and machine learning models are operationalized through QFO and VBC workflows, field interventions, and quality improvement strategies.

Careers with Optum offer flexible work arrangements and individuals who live and work in the Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to split their monthly work hours between our Dublin or Letterkenny office and telecommuting from a home-based office in a hybrid work model.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with business partners to define and document business and technical requirements for data and analytics projects, this includes the documentation of data flows and data mapping from source systems into our analytic platform
Partner with our Compliance and Privacy team to ensure our datasets have proper member level de-identification that complies with existing customer contracts
Create user stories and acceptance criteria
Attend and participate in Daily Scrum meetings
Participate in Sprint Planning and Sprint Review meetings with the Scrum Team and project stakeholders
Participate and contribute to weekly Data Governance meetings with team leads and project stakeholders
Document data ingestion updates to the wider Stars team on a regular basis
Assist with QA of features once implemented
Support the Scrum Master as part of the Business Strategy function within the team

Required Qualifications:
Graduate degree or equivalent qualification
Demonstrated solid understanding of relational database concepts
Proven SQL querying experience
Proven experience with Agile methodology including Agile tools (e.g. Rally, Jira, Aha!)
Proven experience with analysing and documenting requirements
Demonstrated excellent communication skills
Proven stakeholder management experience
Demonstrated ability to analyse data, drive to root cause issues, identify trends, problem solve, and provide key recommendations based on analysis
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Confluence, and SharePoint
Demonstrated fluency in English, both written and spoken
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated working knowledge of DWaaS concepts and key components within large-scale big data environments
Proven experience with HIPAA and data de-identification methodologies
Proven healthcare/pharmacy experience
Proven exposure to Machine Learning models/projects
