JOB TITLE Kitchen Porter
RESPONSIBLE TO Head Chef
Purpose of Job: To support the Kitchen porter team in the cleanliness, stocking and operational function of the kitchen and ancillary areas.
Responsibilities:
· To clean and maintain kitchen, kitchen items and crockery and ancillary areas to the agreed standard and in a safe, healthy and hygienic manner, taking due care in work in line with relevant policies. To work in accordance with standards set down and to ensure safety signage is properly employed.
· To receive, store, issue, monitor all stock, condiments, food items in line with established SOP procedures and ensure proper storage, rotation and dispensing procedures.
· To participate in all cleaning and hygiene procedures to the agreed standard, giving due regard to the safety of others, paying particular attention to observing proper chemical handling procedures.
· To ensure all equipment is properly used and taken care of and any breakages are reported immediately in the prescribed manner – do not attempt to operate or repair a piece of machinery unless you have received proper training.
· To always work in a professional and friendly manner and to undertake any reasonable duty as may be assigned to you outside of your normal duties.
· To always work part of the overall team and to assist a colleague wherever required, including training new staff.
· To abide by the standards, procedures and policies adopted by the hotel, including those laid down in the employee handbook, the health and safety statement and the SOPs for your department.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €1.00-€14.20 per hour
