Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Previous experience of working in a caring profession is desirable.
Have the ability to work on own initiative, prioritise and manage a number of issues simultaneously and demonstrate attention to detail.
Have the ability to undertake the physical demands of the role.
Be motivated and able to identify potential difficulties and formulate solutions.
Be free from any defect or disease which would render him/her unsuitable to hold office and be in a state of health as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Be of good character.
The ideal candidate will display personal initiative, value others opinions and have concise communication skills, forward thinking and actively take responsibility for meeting internal and external customer needs to achieve customer satisfaction.
The Health Care Assistant reports to and is accountable to the Clinical
Nurse Managers and the Director of Nursing in all matters relating to the
position.
The appointee will be required to work in any
patient service area of the clinic and he/she will be required to rotate
between wards and any other patient service areas as deemed appropriate by
clinic management.
The role of the Health Care Assistant is to assist
the Nursing Staff in the delivery of patient care, under the supervision of the
Clinical Nurse Managers and Staff Nurses. The primary role is to assist nurses with nursing care and associated
duties.
The Health Care Assistant will work under the
supervision and direction of Nursing Staff, who will decide in respect of each
patient the work to be undertaken by the Attendant.
Strict confidentiality must be maintained at all
times and the Health Care Assistant must ensure the dignity of the patients is
maintained at all times.
Health Care Assistants should report on and off
duty to the Clinical Nurse Manager or deputy or in their absence.
Qualifications & Experience:
Possess a good standard of education
FETAC Level 5 Qualification is essential
