The Technical Officer – Anatomy supports the Teaching and Research perspectives of the Discipline of Anatomy. The role provides technical support for anatomical practical teaching and research, maintains laboratories, preserves cadavers, and delivers practical class teaching.
Responsibilities
Maintain discipline laboratories, preparation laboratory, embalming laboratory, mortuary, and performance laboratory.
Preserve, prepare and care of human cadavers.
Deliver practical class teaching and support academic staff, teaching assistants, and students.
Act as the first point of contact for technical matters within the discipline.
Collaborate with the technical team and stakeholders across the School, Faculty, and College.
Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the Chief Technical Officer, Head of Discipline or Head of School.
Qualifications
Relevant Honours degree (National Certificate accepted as alternative for existing staff).
Preferred MSc holder with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience for senior technical level.
Experience in human anatomy and/or related research desirable.
Willingness to undertake additional training if required.
Employment Details
Post Status: Permanent Contract. Hours: 36.5 per week. Salary: €40,743 to €61,557 per annum, based on the Technical Officer Pay Scale. New entrants appointed on Point 1 of the Scale at €40,743.
