The Role The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the timely and accurate end-to-end processing of client payrolls within an outsourced payroll environment. The role requires strong technical payroll knowledge, client service skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a client focused and collaborative culture. Our Payroll Specialist will support the development of junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement within the payroll department. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Processing & Compliance: Process end-to-end payrolls for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with legislation. Calculate and input all payroll data including new hires, terminations, statutory deductions, benefits, and adjustments. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including taxation, social insurance, and employment legislation. Strict adherence to deadlines in the processing and submission of Revenue Returns (RPN's, PSR, and payment of PAYE/PRSI/USC liabilities). Continuously aim to reduce implementation cycle time. Contribute and champion the streamlining processes. Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a point of contact for assigned clients, managing queries and providing professional payroll advice. Liaise directly with clients to resolve payroll issues and queries. Develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including other IFAC offices, clients, and regional teams. Adopt a proactive approach to delivery, anticipating client needs and escalating obstacles to ensure successful service. Maintain close interaction with regional offices in relation to client payroll matters. Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring service levels are met or exceeded. Support onboarding of new clients, ensuring smooth transition and accurate setup. Teamwork and Coaching: Conduct peer review of payroll processed by junior colleagues to ensure accuracy and compliance. Support the coaching and development of junior payroll team members. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent, high quality service delivery in a fast-paced environment. Share knowledge and support colleagues in problem-solving process improvement. Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and client-focused team culture. Continuous Improvement & Projects: Support Payroll System updates, testing, and implementation of new processes. Identify opportunities for efficiency and automation in payroll processing. Contribute to team and departmental projects, ensuring successful delivery within deadlines. You will have: Minimum of 3-4 years 'payroll experience, ideally in an outsourced payroll environment. IPASS qualification is essential. Third level qualification in Payroll, HR, Finance, or related discipline is desirable. Strong technical knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements. Good planning and organisational skills with excellent time management. Ability to work on own initiative and seek assistance when required. Flexible, with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative team approach.
