Our client is embarking on a series of strategic technology initiatives and is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their Technology & Security Services team.
This role offers the opportunity to work on network-focused projects across a large and complex enterprise environment. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering robust network solutions, ensuring the organisation's infrastructure remains secure, reliable, and future-ready.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and complete project artefacts including High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs, Change Requests, and Acceptance into Service documentation.
2. Implement network solutions for enterprise-level projects across data centre and branch environments.
3. Review project designs and change requests to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
4. Deliver knowledge transfer and training to service teams to support smooth handover of solutions.
5. Collaborate with the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure projects are well-planned, documented, and delivered successfully.
6. Contribute to the development of technical standards, templates, and architecture guidelines.
7. Assist in prioritising project work requests in collaboration with PMO and business stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
8. Expert knowledge of WAN/LAN technologies and large enterprise networking environments.
9. Proven experience in network design, configuration, and implementation for both data centre and branch office networks.
10. Strong understanding of Wireless Technologies (Aruba Essential).
11. Proficiency in Network IP Address Design and Optimisation.
12. Solid understanding of routing protocols (OSPF and BGP).
13. Experience collaborating with third-party vendors, ISPs, Cloud Providers, and Telcos in the Irish market.
14. Strong communication skills with the ability to present, document, and clearly articulate technical solutions.
15. Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.
16. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
17. Self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team.
18. Up-to-date knowledge of vendor offerings, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
Qualifications & Certifications
19. Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
20. 5+ years' technical experience in large enterprise network environments.
21. Certifications (at least 1 essential): Aruba Mobility, Aruba ClearPass, Aruba Switching, and Aruba Design.
22. ITIL certification desirable.
