The Opportunity
The Utilities Manager will assist the Land, Property and Planning Manager in managing utilities for the Scheme, facilitating the delivery of Core Bus Corridor Infrastructure Works (CBCIW) on time and within budget. The role involves overseeing the implementation of structures to ensure utilities are managed to the satisfaction of the NTA, coordinating with external utility asset owners, and facilitating strategic meetings to discuss Scheme impacts and agreements.
As a Utilities Manager at Arup, you will:
* Have 7+ years’ experience in utilities management, including at least 5 years managing utilities across project lifecycles in high-value infrastructure projects similar to CBCIW.
* Desirable experience includes:
* Delivering engineering solutions in urban environments;
* Coordinating utilities and third-party works on construction projects;
* Managing ducting infrastructure, proofing, and repair projects;
* Managing reinstatements of third-party works (e.g., telecoms, roadworks);
* Inspecting third-party roadworks;
* Supervising contractor performance for compliance;
* Managing interface with third parties;
* Recording work quality and issuing non-conformance notices;
* Driving best practices in technical activities, policies, and standards;
* Understanding complex project design and delivery in construction sectors;
* Applying safety protocols in urban road projects;
* Engaging with stakeholders at all levels to improve processes and support delivery;
* Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices is a plus.
Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related discipline;
* Safepass accreditation (desirable);
* Chartered membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, IEI) (desirable).
