This role owns the end-to-end power scaling strategy for a number of countries within the EMEA footprint. The scope includes analyzing, developing, and implementing strategies for interconnecting data centers and scaling business across power grids, ensuring access to secure, resilient, and scalable power to support AWS growth.With a proven track record in the power/energy sector and project management skills, you will own the origination and contracting of power capacity, collaborate with regional experts, and develop tactical and strategic solutions to navigate power access constraints. Your efforts will enable scalable growth supporting AWS Cloud expansion and customer innovation.You will build relationships with stakeholders such as grid and utility companies, regulators, and policymakers to facilitate timely and cost-effective power access for AWS infrastructure expansion.About AWS Infrastructure Services:We own the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure, supporting data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. Our team includes software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers, working together to deliver high standards of safety, security, and capacity at low cost.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute power growth strategies for AWS’s EMEA data centers.Originate and contract power capacity for data center support.Identify and mitigate risks in power grid delivery and operation.Develop cost-saving projects related to grid infrastructure.Collaborate with utilities and external stakeholders to support expansion.Work with Public Policy teams to develop enabling policies and guidelines.A Day in the Life:Manage relationships with internal and external energy stakeholders.Drive power contract negotiations and initiatives.Establish and nurture business and technical relationships.Support AWS’s EMEA infrastructure expansion objectives.About the Team:The Infrastructure Energy team, with 13 members across Dublin, London, Madrid, Dubai, and Frankfurt, focuses on securing reliable power for AWS data centers in EMEA.
