We work closely with our clients from early concept through to detailed design, build, and commissioning, delivering high-quality, compliant, and innovative solutions.Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team.The RoleAs an Electrical Design Engineer at Noreside Engineering, you will play a key role in the design and development of electrical systems for bespoke automation projects. You will be responsible for producing detailed electrical designs for control panels, while also contributing to concept design, technical proposals, and front-end engineering activities.This role offers exposure across the full project lifecycle and the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects in regulated manufacturing environments.Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Design & DocumentationProduce detailed electrical schematics and panel designs for industrial control systemsDevelop wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and cable schedulesSelect and specify electrical components in line with project requirements and standardsGenerate electrical documentation packs suitable for manufacture, installation, and validationConcept Design & ProposalsSupport early-stage concept development for bespoke automation solutionsContribute to technical proposals, including design approaches, system architectures, and estimatesCollaborate with automation, mechanical, and process engineers to develop integrated solutionsStandards & ComplianceDesign systems in accordance with relevant standards (e.g. IEC, EN, UL as applicable)Ensure designs meet industry-specific requirements for pharma, medical device, and food & beverage environmentsSupport design reviews, risk assessments, and change control processesProject SupportProvide technical support during panel build, FAT, installation, and commissioning phasesLiaise with panel builders, suppliers, and internal teamsAssist with troubleshooting and design updates as requiredRequired Skills & ExperienceDegree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related disciplineProven experience in electrical design for industrial automation or machineryExperience designing control panels (PLC, drives, instrumentation, safety circuits)Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (e.g. EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar)Strong understanding of industrial electrical standards and best practicesAbility to work on multiple projects and manage competing prioritiesDesirable ExperienceExperience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or food & beverage industriesKnowledge of functional safety (e.g. SIL, PL)Familiarity with PLC and automation platforms (e.g. Siemens, Rockwell, Beckhoff)Exposure to validation, GAMP, or regulated project environmentsExperience supporting proposals or front-end engineering design (FEED) activitiesPersonal AttributesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsClear communicator, comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersDetail-oriented with a commitment to quality and complianceProactive and collaborative team playerWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on bespoke, high-value automation projectsExposure to the full project lifecycle, from concept through deliveryA collaborative and technically driven engineering environmentCompetitive salary and benefits packageOngoing professional development and career progressionJob Type: Full-timePay: €400,000.00-€600,000.00 per yearBenefits:Bike to work schemeCompany pensionOn-site parkingPrivate medical insuranceWork Location: In person
