About the Role
An award-winning multidisciplinary building services consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its expanding Data Centre division.
You’ll play a key role in delivering high-performance electrical design solutions for complex, mission-critical facilities, taking projects from concept through to completion. This role suits an experienced engineer who enjoys leading design teams, liaising directly with clients, and driving innovation in energy efficiency, resilience, and reliability.
Key Projects
Confidential Hyperscale Data Centre Campus – Full electrical design delivery for a 60MW facility in Northern Europe
Tier III Data Centre Expansion – Medium‑voltage and LV systems upgrade for a mission‑critical client in Ireland
High-Tech Commercial HQ – Design and coordination of resilient electrical infrastructure for a global technology firm
About You
Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (Chartered an advantage)
10+ years’ experience in electrical design, ideally within data centre or mission-critical projects
Strong knowledge of ETCI, CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS, and EN standards
Skilled in AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech, and Revit
Proven ability to lead design packages independently
Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience
Experience mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities
Lead the electrical design and specification of building services systems
Oversee detailed electrical schematics and tender documentation
Manage project delivery from concept through to site completion
Provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members
Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to achieve project goals
Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and project requirements
