Job Overview:
A leading Irish main contractor is seeking a Construction Buyer to join their commercial team. The role will support live projects by procuring materials and plant, ensuring cost efficiency, timely delivery, and strong supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Procurement of construction materials and plant in line with project programmes
* Placing purchase orders and managing supplier lead times
* Liaising with site teams to meet delivery and specification requirements
* Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
* Monitoring market pricing and availability
* Maintaining accurate procurement records and cost data
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Buyer within a main contractor or construction environment in Ireland (1-3 years)
* Strong knowledge of construction materials and local supply chains
* Good communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement systems
