The Role
The Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Engineering Manager and operate as an integral member of the maintenance team, working closely with Production Managers to support operational efficiency.
The successful candidate will be a highly skilled technician capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. They will demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety standards and exhibit a solid understanding of Lean manufacturing principles, including 5S methodology and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
Your Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical support and carry out electro-mechanical repairs on plant facilities and equipment, including packaging lines, utilities (compressed air, steam, refrigeration), and effluent systems.
* Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance in a high-volume food/beverage processing environment.
* Complete planned and preventative maintenance tasks, update maintenance systems, and manage spare-parts transactions.
* Use available resources (manuals, service contracts, contractors) to support breakdown recovery.
* Communicate effectively, work well in a team, manage multiple tasks, and stay calm under pressure.
* Embrace new ideas and lean manufacturing practices.
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, food safety, and environmental regulations.
* Coordinate and control contractors when required.
The Ideal Candidate
* Relevant Trades Qualification or similar
* Experience with Electrical maintenance within an automated manufacturing environment an advantage
* Computer literate
* Excellent technical English verbal and written communication skills
* Must possess a multi-skilled / cross-skilled ethos
* Willingness to work at Electrical and Mechanical tasks as required
