Grant Thornton Business Risk Services (BRS) team is currently seeking an ambitious professional to join our Dublin office as a Risk Advisory/ Internal Audit manager. The team delivers risk management, internal audit, compliance advisory, internal control, Sarbanes‑Oxley consulting and corporate governance services to a diverse client base.
Job Description
The successful candidate will bring experience in risk management, risk consulting, or internal audit—either within a professional services firm or as a manager in a large company. This role offers the chance to work on assignments across a broad spectrum of organisations and industries, including banking, insurance, fintech, technology, food & beverages, healthcare and energy.
Main Responsibilities
Provide risk management, internal audit, SOX and related controls-based advice and expertise to clients in a consulting capacity or as part of an outsourced or co‑sourced arrangement.
Act as the lead for fieldwork assignments involving multiple team members and client deliverables.
Work closely with client management, up to and including board‑level directors.
Prepare detailed reports outlining risk advisory, internal audit findings and recommendations.
Assist the management team in strategic business development activities, including identifying client needs, opportunities and working on proposals for new business.
Skills And Attributes
Minimum 5 years’ experience in risk management, risk consulting, internal audit either within a professional services firm or as a risk/internal audit manager in a large company.
Qualification relevant to internal or external auditing such as ACA, ACCA, PIIA, MIIA or similar.
Strong client focus and an interest in providing risk advisory, internal audit and business advisory services.
Good project management skills with the ability to plan and manage projects with several staff.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience in specialist areas such as credit risk, treasury risk, enterprise risk management, conduct or other risk and control exposure is a distinct advantage.
Ability to think outside the box and distill technical jargon for clients.
People‑oriented mindset, proactive ownership of work and strong client relations skills.
