Job Title: Fingerprint Analyst
Job Summary
This role is responsible for analyzing and identifying fingerprints, as well as providing expert testimony in a court of law.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Fingerprint Examiner classification involves classifying, registering, searching, and identifying fingerprints in the Automated Fingerprint/Biometric Identification System (AFIS/ABIS). This includes assisting other city and county agencies with fingerprint and identification work, as well as performing related duties as required.
Requirements
* A minimum of two years of experience as a Fingerprint or Tenprint Examiner, or equivalent experience in the field of fingerprint identification.
* A valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
* Meet specific vision requirements.
* Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds.
* Successful completion of a thorough background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of fingerprint classification and identification systems.
* Alpha and alpha-numeric filing.
* Windows-based computer programs.
* Correct English usage.
* Basic math.
* Standard office practices and procedures.
