Qualified Part-Time Accountant Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced part-time accountant to join our reputable business in the Ballincollig area on a six-month contract.
You will oversee and manage the daily operations of the finance function on a part-time basis, initially covering a six-month period of leave. Reporting to the Senior Accountant and Managing Director, this role requires a proactive and highly organised individual with exceptional attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices.
* Manage daily banking activities, accurately record transactions, and perform bank reconciliations.
* Efficiently process and file purchase and expense invoices, manage supplier payments, and reconcile accounts on a monthly basis.
* Process and file subcontractor payments on a weekly basis, demonstrating a thorough working knowledge of the Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT) system and Reverse Charge VAT.
* Maintain and manage an Excel-based cost reporting system for all ongoing construction projects.
* Take a key role in the preparation of management accounts and the year-end audit process.
* Manage sales invoicing, generate customer statements, and proactively follow up on overdue accounts.
* Handle inter-company transactions accurately.
* Prepare and file bi-monthly VAT returns, ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant tax regulations.
* Oversee payroll processing on a weekly and monthly basis, ensuring timely tax submissions and compliance.
* Undertake ad hoc assignments as required.
A recognised Accounting Qualification is essential (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent). A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience is necessary. Previous experience within the Construction Industry is highly advantageous. Proven experience working effectively within small teams is desirable.
