Overview
The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision of a high quality person-cented Occupational Therapy service to a designated clinical area(s) and will carry out clinical and educational duties as assigned by the Senior Occupational Therapist / Occupational Therapist Manager.
A panel will be formed as a result of this campaign from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda and Louth County Hospital, Dundalk may be filled. These posts are rotational across both sites.
Louth Hospitals Occupational Therapy department provides a wide range of acute, outpatient and rehabilitation services i.e. Medical, Respiratory, Neurology, Care of the Elderly, Frailty, Orthopaedics, Rehabilitation (Care of older person and stroke), Acute Stroke, Surgical, Critical care, Trauma, Hand therapy, Early Supported Discharge (ESD) for stroke etc.

1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc
Candidates for appointment must:
* Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
and
* Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
and
* Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
1. Annual registration
* On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
And
* Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
1. Health
Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
