Instrumentation Calibration Technician Role Overview
The role of Instrumentation Calibration Technician involves executing calibrations of all utilities instrumentation, and where applicable, process/laboratory instrumentation, in the field as per site schedules and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Execution of calibrations as per site schedule and site procedures, as directed by the Lead Calibration technician
2. Execution of scheduled and unscheduled work orders, where appropriate, as per site schedule and site procedures, as directed by the Lead Calibration technician
3. Troubleshoot problems with instrumentation as necessary and as directed by site supervisors
4. Complete site documentation before and after work tasks, as appropriate
Liaise and Work with the Shift/day maintenance team on all instrumentation calibration issues
Participate in the appropriate training
Carry out Risk Assessment of instrumentation calibration steps and ensure these are always kept valid
Enter calibration certs onto the site Computerised Calibration Management System, as directed by the Lead Calibration Tech and AI&C engineer
Required Skills and Qualifications
* At least 6 months technical experience (Essential)
* National Craft Certificate (or equivalent) in appropriate mechanical or electrical discipline or Cert/diploma/degree (or equivalent) in appropriate mechanical or electrical discipline (Essential)
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
* Good documentation skills
Additional Requirements:
* Building Management Systems (Scada)
* Good understanding of Preventive Maintenance Systems
* Work within a Computerized Calibration Management System environment
* Work within a Permit to Work System
* Computer literate
* Understanding of SOP's and GMP Engineering systems
