Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide accurate estimates and manage project costs for Health, Educational and Residential building developments.
2. Evaluate and negotiate contracts, contract changes, and variations.
3. Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors as needed.
4. Assist with the preparation of cost plans and cash flow projections.
5. Preparation of tender documents
6. Document controls and filing.
7. Regularly communicate with contractors and design teams.
8. Assist with the preparation of progress reports.
9. Displays through understanding of specifications, bills of quantities, and drawings
10. Computer literate in Microsoft Office and other Quantity Surveying Packages
11. Demonstrates excellent budgetary responsibility
12. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to provide and explain accurate reporting.
13. Excellent organisation and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
14. Self-starter and ability to organise the workday around assigned activities and priorities with minimum supervision. Must be highly flexible with a high level commitment to success.
15. Ability to work successfully as part of a team
Qualifications:
16. Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector, with 5 years of senior-level experience.
17. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, cost management, and contract administration.
18. Proficiency in industry-standard quantity surveying and cost estimation software.
19. Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
20. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork.
21. Previous PQS experience is a requirement.
22. Good knowledge of the construction industry and standard practices including BCAR compliance.
23. Ability to work independently when required.
24. Strong written and communication skills.
25. Good IT skills.
26. Must be eligible to work full time in Ireland
