Position Overview
In the competitive Dublin 3 building trade, the Trade Counter Sales & Operations Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for trade professionals and retail customers alike.
This is a "dual function" role that requires a seamless transition between the commercial environment of the sales counter and the operational demands of the warehouse and yard.
You are responsible for the entire customer journey: from providing technical advice and processing the sale to ensuring the correct materials are picked, packed, and loaded safely.
Responsibilities
Foster and develop successful working relationships with customers and staff.
Understand customer requirements: meet and exceed their expectations
Advise customers on the best possible solutions.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure customer expectations are met
Maximize sales opportunities.
Identify upsell and cross-sell prospects.
Process POS transactions.
Ensure compliance with sales paperwork.
Support management and colleagues promote and optimize company policies and procedures to ensure a superior customer experience.
Hit monthly and yearly sales target set by the Sales Manager.
Maintain a clean and professionally merchandised store and counter area.
Ensure stock levels are maintained at appropriate levels.
Operate a clean, tidy and safe working environment at all times.
Be security conscious at all times.
Flexibility and willingness to perform any other reasonable duties necessary or as may be required by the company.
Flexible and willingness to provide cover and support for warehouse if needed.
Yard & Warehouse support
Assist in the warehouse and yard as needed, particularly during peak times or staff shortages, to ensure seamless logistics.
Assist customers with safe loading of heavy building materials (e.g., timber, cement, insulation).
Ensure the yard remains organised, swept and free of obstructions to facilitate the safe movement of delivery vehicles and forklifts.
Securely tag high value products and remain vigilant against theft of goods or company property in both the warehouse and yard environment.
Health, Safety & Security
Constantly monitor shop floor, warehouse and yard for potential hazards to customers and staff (e.g., spills, loose racking, blocked exits).
Promote a security conscious environment actively safeguarding company assets and reporting any suspicious behaviour.
Adhere to all Manual handling guidelines when breaking down pallets and moving heavy building supplies.

- Mon-Fri (Including some weekends)
Times
Mon Thu 7.30am – 4.30pm, Fri 7.30am – 4.00pm
Position
– Full-time, on-site position.

– May involve early starts, late finishes, or weekend work depending on operational needs.

– May Require physical activity, including lifting and movement of goods.

May require travel to our external site on an occasional basis.
