Barden has been retained by our client, a leading provider of building automation and management solutions based in Dublin in their search for a Lead Commissioning Engineer - ALC.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Lead the safe, consistent, timely and commercially effective delivery of BMS commissioning. This role involves in-depth knowledge of Building Automation Systems, including expertise in ALC and other industry-standard platforms. The ability to implement and test control strategies and graphic on site for various building systems is essential, ensuring all requirements are met across Commercial, Retail, Pharmaceutical and Data Centre sectors.
Experience with WebCTRL, EIKON, SiteBuilder would be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead site safety culture, setting the standard for compliance, Stop Work Authority, and proactive reporting across all commissioning activities
Own commissioning delivery from pre-commissioning through to SAT/IST, witnessing, and final handover
Provide technical leadership on complex systems, particularly within live or critical environments (e.g. pharma, data centres)
Oversee execution of commissioning activities, including I/O validation, interlocks, functional testing, and control strategy implementation
Manage BMS commissioning and programming, ensuring systems operate in line with design intent and client requirements
Act as the primary client interface, building strong relationships while managing expectations and communicating risks early
Drive programme performance, ensuring milestones are met and risks, issues, and change controls are effectively managed and escalated
Enforce quality and documentation standards, ensuring all commissioning records, test packs, and system backups are completed to a high standard
Lead and develop the commissioning team, allocating resources, mentoring engineers, and setting clear expectations for delivery
Support continuous improvement, capturing lessons learned and contributing to enhanced processes, standards, and consistency across projects
ABOUT THE PERSON
Strong leadership in safety, planning, delivery and stakeholder management.
6+ years of deep commissioning knowledge for BMS in critical and regulated environments.
High technical competence in ALC WebCTRL, EIKON, SiteBuilder and integrations (BACnet/Modbus) with strong troubleshooting ability.
Strong organisational skills: resourcing, prioritisation, project coordination.
Clear, calm communication under pressure with professional client interface.
