My client is seeking to hire an experienced Business Analyst to join a busy IT Operations team during a period of major transformation. This role is a daily rate contract supporting the delivery of large-scale systems implementation and upgrade projects, working closely with IT and business stakeholders to analyse requirements, define solutions, and ensure successful delivery.This is a dynamic and hands-on contract role suited to a self-starter with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proven experience working in complex IT environments. The successful candidate will contribute directly to the modernisation and optimisation of core IT systems and processes across the organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesEngage with business and technical stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements.Translate business needs into clear specifications for IT development, operations, and vendor teams.Perform process mapping, gap analysis, and impact assessments to inform solution design and delivery planning.Collaborate with project managers, technical leads, and systems owners to ensure alignment between business objectives and project outcomes.Support testing and quality assurance, including test case design, user acceptance testing (UAT), and defect tracking.Contribute to change management activities, such as user documentation, communications, and training support.Identify and propose process improvements and automation opportunities within the IT Operations function.Provide timely progress reports, risk assessments, and project updates to stakeholders and senior management.Key Skills and ExperienceProven experience as a Business Analyst within IT operations, infrastructure, or systems implementation projects.Strong understanding of IT systems, applications, and operational processes within medium to large organisations.Demonstrated expertise in requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and process documentation.Experience with process mapping and workflow analysis toolsExcellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams.Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery environments.Competency with collaboration and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.Preferred QualificationsA third level qualification in Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferable Professional certification such as IIBA CBAP/CCBA, PMI-PBA, or Agile BA is an advantage.Familiarity with ITIL frameworks or IT service management principles desirable.Previous experience working with or managing third-party vendors and system integrators in the Irish market is a plus.Experience within regulated sectors (e.g. financial services, utilities, healthcare, or public sector) would be advantageous.
